SHAPELESSNESS - W.I.N.D.O.W. Erskine St Sydney - October 5 to October 15 1989

My work was a painting - it consists of 5 stripes of stencilled decorative friezes, each a different colour, which had then been covered with a dark wash, so that the texture of the stencilled edges were emphasised.  For the first part of the exhibition,  5 strips of felt were hung vertically over the horizontal painting, so that the work formed a cross.  It is still one of my favourite paintings - it hangs in the lounge room - I don't know what happened to the felt strips - I think the moths may have eaten them...

VICTORY OVER THE SUN - First Draft 2/27 Abercrombie St Chippendale - 10th to 16th July 1989

Victory Over the Sun was a group show curated by Clinton Garofano and John Young, in which all works had to be white in colour and measure 20 inches x 20 inches.Below is the invite, catalogue and invitation to exhibit, with the rationale for the exhibition.
The work I exhibited was called White Flowers (oil, stencil, on wax, on canvas).  It was basically a white wax encaustic surface covered with a grid of small stencilled white flowers in white oil - I quite liked it - I don't know what happened to it...
