BOSTON ONLINE BIENNIAL - The Biennial Project - June 2011

The Mission Statement for the Biennial Project states - 'The Biennial Project is a collaborative project by artists Eric Hess, Anna Salmeron and our friends to explore the nature and understand the perception of biennial exhibits within the art world, and, in so doing, to develop a collective body of work that will be exhibited in as many biennial exhibits as possible especially the really cool ones.'

In 2011 they held the 'Inaugural Boston Online Biennial' and I got 2nd place.  CLICK HERE to see the work of all the artists chosen!

For a bit of extra fun I sent a press release to the local paper and they came to my studio and did a story - somehow they convinced me to put an artwork on my head....

CIRCLE/SQUARE - Tin Sheds Gallery, Faculty of Architecture, 148 City Road, The University of Sydney - 18 March-2 April, 2011

'circle/square' at the Tin Sheds included work by Pam Aitken, Francesca Mataraga, Marlene Sarroff, Liz Shreeve and myself.

CLICK HERE to go to a separate blog that documents all of the works in the exhibition and includes many images of the works in development, a copy of the catalogue and a couple of videos of the show.

My work was a full-sized version of the 'Round Cube', of which I had only previously made a smaller prototype.  I hoped that it was going to translate to the larger size...and it did...whew!..... and a painting work consisting of four square canvases painted with circles - yellow, red, blue and coloured, hung together as one piece.
